I am a resident of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada who has blogged here for 20 years. I like to share my thoughts and feelings on my own online space. From 1998 until 2017 I worked as a journalist and I hope to use this website as an archive for all of my stories.

  1. David, You really have a way with succinct and clear language, i should ask you to edit some of my papers 🙂

  2. It’s a common problem when you’re recording video of any monitor or TV not synchronized with the recording device. Typical recording framerates are 24 to 30 frames per second while the typical monitor refresh rate is 60 to 75 times per second. So because the rates are out of sync the camera effectively catches the monitor in “mid-refresh”. Thus, the weird blinkyness of the monitor.

  3. Aw, I like this video a lot because I never knew the story behind that desk until now. I’m always learning about you. One thing though, the monitor in the video was very distracting. Whats up with that?
