I graduated from Douglas College

On June 12, 2018 I graduated from Douglas College
with a certificate in office administration, legal.

It was, without a doubt, the most dignified and beautiful graduation ceremony that I have ever taken part in.

This was a far cry from my previous graduations which took place in
ugly gymnasiums or loud courtyards.

The afternoon ceremony took place in the Laura C. Muir Performing Arts Theatre at Douglas College’s New Westminster campus. The event featured live music, excellent lighting and sound production and perfectly timed processions across the stage. I think I even spotted fresh flowers.

I couldn’t have asked for a better conclusion to my year at Douglas
College.

It was a moment to celebrate my hard work and accomplishments
as I stepped forward into the next chapter of life. Additionally, it was
a moment to say “goodbye” to my wonderful classmates and teachers
who were incredibly patient with me.

Finally, I want to give a special shout out to my friend Jacquie Miller
who took a cab from Downtown Vancouver to be there on time.
