My cat’s nationality

Well… we got the first few rays of summer sun the other day and Khan made sure to take full advantage of the heat. Khan was enjoying every minute of it. It got me thinking that I should probably move to a sunny climate so he can chillax in the sun whenever he wants.

Anywhoo… one of my Russian friends is adamant that Khan is a Russian Blue cat. I assumed he was just a beautiful domestic short-hair mutt. But when I read up on the Russian Blue breed I noticed that he fit almost every single characteristic.

Based on the shape of his head, and his markings I think that he’s probably half Russian Blue and half domestic short hair.

It’s kind of neat that he’s a Russian Shorthair because I happened to be doing an interview with the Russian consul general about an hour before I adopted him.

I don’t think he misses his ancestral homeland, but I have no doubt he longs for a sunny locale by the sea.
