My very first “article”

Nathaniel Christopher 2 Comments

I always thought the first thing I published was back in 1993. It was an article about the dangers of pets eating Christmas ornaments.  I recently discovered that I had actually published something in 1990.

It’s not an article, but a drawing that ran in the July 9, 1990 edition of the Province. The fan-fucking tastic Children’s entertainer Lois Walker used to go around to all the schools in BC and encourage kids to be creative.

She had a column in the Province which featured art and ideas from kids. Here’s what she said about me:

“Nathaniel Christopher, age 8, from Dufferin Cres. School in Nanaimo, hopes to travel in a horse-drawn carriage, by helicopter, and upon a magic carpet.”

And this is the drawing I did…

This is what I looked like back then.
I am a resident of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, who has been blogging here for nearly 25 years. I enjoy sharing my thoughts and feelings on my own online platform. From 1998 until 2017, I worked as a journalist, and I have posted most of my articles in the 'News' section of this website.

  1. So you thought it would be a good idea to put your cat on the elavator?

Were you surprised that he was terrified? Nathaniel when will you learn. You can not scare your baby boy. By the way good shading in the picture. I also did NOT have a date on the Indian reservation.
