Is BC Transit being taken over by right-wingers?

I was surfing the web today when I happened upon the site for BC Transit which provices public transit services for communities outside of the Greater Vancouver Area. The BC Transit logo can be seen on buses in nearly every obscure corner of this province. At the moment the logo looks like this:

BC Transit Logo

It’s a little generic, but not totally offensive to the eyes. This year, however, BC Transit decided to change their logo to this:

New BC Transit Logo

I think it’s fucking ugly. I could go on about it, but I think the Canadian Design Resource and Corey Burger in Oak Bay provide a much better artistic analysis than I could.

I just want to make one observation.

I think this new BC Transit logo looks very similar to the old Canadian Alliance logo:

Canadian Alliance Party logo

The Canadian Alliance Party was a right wing party that dissolved when it merged with the Progressive Conservative Party to form the Conservative Party of Canada.

Perhaps it’s just a coincidence, but I find that shitty logos like this new BC Transit Logo are created by lazy or untalented graphic designers who just don’t have the ability or desire to create something original and attractive.

I am a resident of Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, who has been blogging here for nearly 25 years. I enjoy sharing my thoughts and feelings on my own online platform. From 1998 until 2017, I worked as a journalist, and I have posted most of my articles in the 'News' section of this website.

  1. See, that’s just what they want you to think. Never underestimate the power of a reptoid. The new logo contains a road so that you keep thinking they are only interested in transporting surface dwellers. When the rate hike comes but you’re still sitting in the same piss-stink filled bus, you’ll know where your extra cash is going. Reptoid transit.

    Also – crickets.

  2. Ooh… not sure that conspiracy flies! Sadly, BC Transit doesn’t oversee any subways or light rail. Just buses. There’s no plans, as of yet, to implement any kind of light rail or mass transit system outside of the Lower Mainland.

  3. The two logos are both supposed to invoke a sense of motion. Sure, they’re both blue and green, but certainly not the same shades. The right wingers chose a rasterised logo shape that can be created with a simple tool in photoshop/illustrator. The BCT logo took a good deal more design. Now, it is true that fascists have poor taste in design, but I’m really not sensing a conspiracy here.

Or maybe it’s reptoids. The reptoids DO work with the right wing governments in conjunction with the Illuminati to defeat the great Jewish conspiracy. And where do reptoids live? Underground. Where your subway is. It’s all an elaborate plot to improve mass transit for our hidden reptile cousins beneath the surface.

Yes. It’s reptoids. Let’s stick with that.
